Midterm holidays

As an exchange student, I want to see and to travel a lot. During the 4 free days in the midterm break I travelled to Porvoo, Turku and Jyväskylä.

PORVOO is the second oldest town of Finland and has beautiful wooden houses. I went there with my Italian neighbour Marco and 2 other Germans. We walked through the old town and along the river and visited the house of Runeberg, a Finnish poet who also wrote the text for the national anthem. Furthermore, we tried tasty chocolate in a chocolate manufactory which is famous for Porvoo. Only 1h by bus, Porvoo is really worth a visit!

In TURKU I met Patrick, a colleague from my Finnish course in Göttingen who is an exchange student in Turku now. He showed me the city and we visited the castle .

On the same day I went further to my relatives in JYVÄSKYLÄ where it was very cold: -5°C in October! The lakes started freezing and I helped my uncle to take the boat out of the lake.
